Poking Holes in Rainbows

As we left the Waller city limits and headed home I caught sight of a gorgeous rainbow.  It was right in front of us the whole way home. Showing it to Isaiah, my three year old was quite a treat.  I don’t think he had ever seen one but I was surprised that he already knew what a rainbow was.  About the same time he saw a cool jet to the right side of our car and he pointed it out to me.  “Look, Mommy.  Daddy’s plane.”  (Daddy flew to New York today.  Every plane this week will be Daddy’s plane.)  We observed and made sweet conversation about the colors of the rainbow and the jet.

All of a sudden Isaiah lets out this terrified squeal.  “NO,NO, NO!!!!  Fly away Daddy plane.  Fly away!”

Cassidy interrupted, “Isaiah why are you saying that?”

“He gonna crash.  He gonna crash!”

He got my attention.  I thought maybe we were about to witness a tragedy in air!

But Isaiah yells louder to further explain.  “He gonna poke a hole in that rainbow, Mommy.  Fly way Daddy plane!  No, No, No…..Don’t do that…don’t fly into de rainbow.  He gonna poke a hole in it!  Gonna break it to pieces. AHHHHHH!!!”

Then Cassidy started yelling.  “Mommy, he’s going to crash right into that rainbow.  All the colors will spill out.”

I laughed so hard I almost wrecked my car!
